Enrollment Process
Everything your family needs to enroll at Advance U — a free, tuition-free public charter school.
Thank you for your interest in attending a Leona Group Schools managed school. As a manager of public charter schools, we are pleased to offer you a free and quality educational choice in a safe, caring, and respectful environment, with a rigorous education taught by highly qualified teachers. We look forward to meeting your family and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
Families experiencing housing instability may not be required to provide the documentation below at the time of enrollment. Please inform the school if this applies to you.
Required for Enrollment
Proof of Residency (A.R.S. 15-802(b))
Complete an Affidavit of Arizona Residency (available at the school office) and submit an original or legible copy of one document showing your name and residence address, such as:
- Valid Arizona driver’s license, ID card, or motor vehicle registration
- Valid Arizona Address Confidentiality Program authorization card
- Real estate deed, mortgage documents, or property tax bill
- Residential lease or rental agreement
- Water, electric, gas, cable, or phone bill
- Bank or credit card statement
- State income tax return, W-2, or payroll documentation
- Documentation from a state, tribal, or federal government agency
- Certificate of tribal enrollment with an Arizona address
- Consular identification card (with biometric verification) issued by a foreign government
Residency documentation is maintained per Arizona Department of Education guidelines and must be verified annually.
Requested at Enrollment (won’t prevent enrolling)
Proof of Age & Identity (A.R.S. §15-828)
- A copy of the child’s government-issued birth certificate; or
- Other reliable proof of identity and age (baptismal certificate, hospital-issued birth certificate, Social Security application, passport, or prior school registration records); or
- A letter from an authorized representative of an agency having custody of the student.
Required for Attendance
Immunizations (A.R.S. 15-872)
All students entering Arizona public schools must be immunized. A waiver may be signed for a qualifying medical condition or personal belief before the first day of school. Immunization records (or exemption documentation) are required to attend, but not to enroll.
Kindergarten Admission
Children must turn 5 prior to September 1 of the current school year to be eligible for kindergarten. Leona Group managed schools do not offer or accept early-admittance testing.
Pursuant to A.R.S. 15-184(F), Leona Group managed schools do not discriminate in admissions or enrollment on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, income level, disability, or proficiency in the English language.
