Advance U is proud to provide free, healthy meals to every student every day through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
What Is CEP?
The Community Eligibility Provision is a federal program under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. It lets schools in eligible communities serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students, regardless of household income.
What It Means for Families
Every student receives free breakfast and lunch, no household meal applications are required, and all students are encouraged to enjoy school meals daily.
Why It Matters
Nutritious meals help students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. Our menus meet or exceed USDA nutrition standards with fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
Arizona Healthy Schools Act (HB 2164)
The Arizona Healthy Schools Act (House Bill 2164) prohibits public schools participating in federally funded or assisted meal programs from serving, selling, or allowing a third party to sell ultraprocessed food on the school campus during the regular school day. The new law takes effect at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

The law defines ultraprocessed foods as those containing 1 or more of the following 11 ingredients:
- Potassium bromate
- Propylparaben
- Titanium dioxide
- Brominated vegetable oil
- Yellow dye 5 or 6
- Blue dye 1 or 2
- Green dye 3
- Red dye 3 or 40
What You Need to Know:
No Outside Food Containing 11 Banned Ingredients:
Visitors or outside companies are not allowed to bring foods with banned ingredients to distribute or sell on campus during the normal school day. You cannot give out food that contains any of the 11 banned ingredients to any of the other students in your child’s class.
What Can I Do, Or Bring?
These new rules do not apply to parents packing their child's individual lunch or snacks. You can still pack any lunches, snacks, or treats for your individual child. You cannot give any food containing any of the 11 banned ingredients to any other students.

Summer Meals
Children and teens ages 18 and younger can receive free meals at participating locations throughout the state. Call the AZ Hunger Hotline at 602-528-3434 or 1-800-445-1914, or text FOOD (COMIDA) to 304-304.
USDA Civil Rights Statement

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, which can be obtained online at usda.gov (Form AD-3027), from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by mail (U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410), fax ((833) 256-1665 or (202) 690-7442), or email (Program.Intake@usda.gov).
